She spent much of the music video in an all black look that included bondage pants, combat boots and a cutout crop top.

Smith accessorized the getup with a giant spiky choker and chain belt as she is seen throwing around both a guitar as well as her middle fingers.

The Blink-182 musician lent his drumming talents to the emo-style track, which is far more in line with the sound of bands like Paramore and Fall Out Boy than the manufactured pop she debuted with.

Willow first shot to fame in 2010 with the catchy, but oft-mocked, neck-cracking anthem Whip My Hair.

Her latest effort showed a much more defiant artist, who is also the only daughter of A-list stars Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The song proved Willow is no longer the young child audiences once knew, with expletive-laden lyrics such as: ‘I don’t f**king know if it’s a lie or its a fact, All your little fake friends will sell you secrets for some cash.’

She used the track to call out the fakes and the liars in her life: ‘I knew a boy just like you, He’s a snake just like you, Such a fake just like you, But I can see the truth.’

The young performer is seen headbanging as she plays the guitar, which she has been playing since she was 14.

Later in the video, she trades in the pants and top for a form-fitting strapless dress and printed leggings, as well as a purple bodysuit covered in spikes.

She revealed that working with Barker really inspired her as an artist.

‘Being in the studio with him really showed me how multi-dimensional his artistry really is… He literally heard the song once and played it.

‘He was like, ‘Oh, that’s perfect,’ one day and played it perfectly once,’ she said in an interview with Apple Music 1.

Willow explained that she’s always wanted to do rock music, but never had the confidence to pursue it.

‘When I first started doing my own music and my parents got me a vocal coach, we only did pop and R&B kind of vibes, and so for my entire life, I didn’t think I had the voice to sing this kind of music or sing rock in general,’ she told Rolling Stone about her new music.

She said the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic gave her the opportunity to try new things, like emulating music inspirations such as Avril Lavigne and My Chemical Romance.

‘That was insanely inspiring. I always felt like I wanted to do it, but for some reason was really insecure and felt like I couldn’t. And so when Covid hit and quarantine started, I just kind of needed something new — everything was slowing down, and I wanted to try something that I had never tried before,’ she shared with the publication.

Transparent Soul is the first taste of a forthcoming album from the star, but no details about a release date have been given.

While she has continued to put out music since she was a kid, Smith is best known for hosting the hit talk show Red Table Talk with her mom Jada and grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Norris on Facebook Watch.
