Lucy has shed a huge amount of weight recently since changing her lifestyle, swapping the booze for exercise.

And in her before and after snap, it’s clear to see just how far she’s come on her journey.

In the left snap, the Lucky Stars hitmaker sits on a chat show sofa during an interview, with Lucy sporting a grey jumper and jeans.

While the right snap sees the singer topless and showcasing her rippling abs while sporting a big smile on her face.

And while Lucy is clearly chuffed with her amazing new look, she notes that it’s not just her appearance that’s changed, but her mindset too.

In her post she comments that in the past, she used to do or say things to ‘prove things’ to others or ‘impress’ them, however, she’s since changed her attitude.

She penned: ‘Got sent these two pictures together this morning. Granted, I feel like absolute s**t today because I accidentally drank a milk protein shake last night (I’m lactose intolerant) and spent the entire night crying in pain on the bathroom floor as a result. But when I saw the picture on the left it really summed up the way I felt at that point in my life.

‘Even my face. That facial expression was how I always felt then. I have no idea what I was talking about in this particular pic but I bet I was disagreeing with something or questioning something in a skeptical way. I was always on the defensive and trying to prove things to everyone else. I used to buy things and say things that I thought would impress people.’

She went onto to state how ‘proud’ she is of herself now and revealed how much she has changed her mindset, with the Sheffield-born star adopting a more positive outlook on life.

She continued: ‘I know these posts are probably getting a bit boring (but it’s my insta so meh) but I’m really, really proud that the picture on the right and it says a lot about who I am right now. I’m a bit mental, I’m normally smiling (apart from about 2 hours after I drink I f**kin’ milkshake), mostly top half naked, with disheveled hair, SOBER and not giving a f**k.

‘I want to prove things to myself, learn more about stuff I don’t know and save all the f**ks I have for the people that matter. I never want to be sad again, but most likely will be, but I now have the ammunition to get myself out of that dark place.

‘It ain’t about shifting the weight, it’s about finally being confident in my own skin, loving my shit tattoos and feeling healthy. Sounds cringey but if you feel the way I did back then, keep pushing, the other side is so worth it.’

Crediting fitness for ditching alcohol, the musician posted: ‘My favourite reward for this part of my life is the absolute pleasure of finding fitness and pushing my body to do things I never imagined I could do. (Well, things drinking me could never do).’

Posing in nothing but a towel, the Last Night hitmaker held onto her chest to display her toned six-pack in the candid snap.

Lucy – who has lost weight over the past 11 months – insisted her lifestyle overhaul has influenced her decision to train for a marathon.

The media personality captioned her post: ‘Woke up this morning 8 months sober as f**k… Today I ran 12.2km and on my way back up my road I decided to start training for a marathon for when the world is back in action again.

‘Because WHY THE F**K NOT!? Not having the choice to do whatever we want has made me reconsider everything…’

Looking forward to letting her hair down in the near future, Lucy added: ‘When I can I’m literally gonna climb mountains, I’m gonna do the things that scare the s**t out of me.

‘I’m going to party way into the night on the beach with my friends… I’m gonna do it all so hard, I’m gonna do it whenever I can and, most importantly, I’m gonna do it all so sober.

‘I just got out of the shower (Budweiser prohibition was my shower beer of choice), I’d love to say I don’t wear my towel like this all the time but I really do. T*ts everywhere. Have a great evening.’

Last year was a tough one for Lucy, who announced she had split from her wife  Georgina Gordon after three years of marriage.

In her statement, the belter said: ‘It’s with sadness to let you know that after nearly 6 years of joy, fun and true love Georgina and I have decided to part ways.

‘We have shared the most amazing times and life together, and we are truly grateful for knowing love at its full capacity. We will continue on our paths as ultimate friends, and dog Mums, united by the bond and memories we will always have…

‘We are eternally thankful for the support you have offered to us; in this time of hardship we we appreciate space and time to deal with the change.’

The Lighthouse singer competed on The X Factor in 2012, but eventually quit after falling ill and not wanting to unfairly go through each round without competing, leading the way for James Arthur to win.

Lucy, who proposed to Georgina in 2015, told OK! magazine at the time of their engagement: ‘[Georgina] didn’t have a clue and she turned around and I was on one knee – it was amazing, I think I knew that she’d say yes but it was still scary.

‘I got a boat – she didn’t know we were going on a boat, we went underneath Albert Bridge and her friends and family, her mum was on the bridge with all of her mates.’

She added of Georgina: ‘I find peace when I’m with her and she makes me feel safe and happy.’
