YouTuber Tré Melvin hospitalized after ‘severe’ car accident… just weeks after he announced he was leaving the site

YouTuber Tré Melvin is in the hospital after getting into a ‘severe’ car crash.

The 26-year-old internet star has suffered ‘brain injuries’ but is in ‘stable’ condition, according to a Twitter statement made on his behalf Tuesday.

Melvin’s accident comes just weeks after he announced he was leaving the video platform after YouTube ‘censor[ed]’ his content.

Tré was with a friend named Kathereya during collision, which happened ‘early Monday morning.’

Both are in the hospital dealing with ‘brain injuries.’

The statement went on to explain that ‘while Tré is stable, Kathy is unresponsive.

‘Their families ask that you please send prayers, blessings, and positive vibrations their way. They will come out of this stronger and more powerful. So it is.’

Tré made the decision to leave YouTube late last month, tweeting: ‘I will no longer allow the platform to censor my pain.

The queer content maker – who boasts 3.3million subscribers – went on to say: ‘I will no longer allow the platform to demonetize my pain. i will no longer sit at a table both my Blackness and my queerness have never truly been welcome at. i will build my own.’

Tré has deleted all of his videos except a nearly two hour video where he explained his decision to cut ties with YouTube.

He later reveal he intends to launch his own platform called Tré Melvin TV.
