Zac Efron goes incognito by wearing a hoodie and sunglasses while shoe shopping in Adelaide – as the city is declared a coronavirus hotspot

He arrived in South Australia last week ahead of filming Stan Original movie Gold.

And Zac Efron made the most of his down-time on Saturday as he went shopping for a pair of designer shoes in Adelaide, just days before the city was declared a coronavirus hotspot.

Sporting a newly grown beard, the Hollywood heartthrob, 33, attempted to go incognito by covering up beneath a grey hoodie, black beanie and sunglasses.

Flying under the radar: Zac Efron went incognito in a grey hoodie while shoe shopping in Adelaide on Saturday – just days before the city was declared a coronavirus hotspot.

He completed his look with black shorts, sneakers and a pair of white crew socks.

Flanked by a male assistant, Zac looked carefree and relaxed as he visited a footwear store to pick up a pair of outback-style boots.

After leaving the outlet, Zac was seen merrily strolling down the footpath while his companion dutifully carried the actor’s large shopping bag.

The shoes could well be for his upcoming role in survival thriller Gold, which will soon begin filming in the Australian outback.

The Northern Territory and Tasmania have declared South Australia a coronavirus hotspot after a cluster of COVID-19 cases in Adelaide grew to 17, with other states expected to follow suit.

The SA cluster was sparked by a worker at a quarantine hotel becoming infected and spreading it to other family members.

According to Deadline, Gold ‘will follow two strangers travelling through a desert who stumble across the biggest gold nugget ever found’.

The film will be directed by Anthony Hayes, who wrote the script with Polly Smyth.
