Billie Faiers says her ‘strong’ and ‘amazing’ mother saved her from violent biological father

‘It could have been very damaging’: Billie Faiers says her ‘strong’ mother saved her and sister Sam from their biological father

Billie Faiers has said that her ‘strong’ and ‘amazing’ mother saved her and her sister Sam from ‘very damaging’ situations.

The former TOWIE stars, both 30, have remained estranged from their biological father Lee since he and their mother Suzie Wells split when they were toddlers.

As they approached adolescence their stepfather Dave Chatwood was jailed for 12 years over drug supply and firearm offences.

Speaking to Fabulous magazine, Billie said: ‘Obviously it was horrible and really sad, but Mum held it together so well that me and Samantha were always OK.

‘At the ages we were it could have been very damaging, but my mum was amazing. We’re really lucky that she is so strong and she stayed strong throughout that situation.’

Billie, who is training for the upcoming season of Dancing On Ice, said that she only understands now how tough it was for her mother to bring the sisters up alone.

She added that she is ‘so appreciative’ of the sacrifices Suzie made as a single parent, saying she understands now she has grown up and had her own children – Nelly, six, and Arthur, three.

The TV personality is gearing up to take to the rink next weekend as the new series of Dancing On Ice gets underway.

In October, Billie revealed she suffered her first fall while practising for the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice with her partner Mark Hanretty.

Billie took to Instagram and admitted she cried for half an hour and thinks her body went into shock following the incident.

However, help was soon at hand, as her husband Greg as well as Nelly and Arthur, arrived to cheer her up.

Following their visit, Billie shared a smiley snap of herself and her family standing on the ice together, as they enjoyed a skating session following rehearsals.

She captioned the sweet shot: ‘Look who come to visit me today. Before they all got to the ice rink I had my first bad fall on the ice… I can’t believe I actually cried for over half an hour.’

‘I think my body went into shock, I couldn’t stop crying and then I was laughing and then crying, anyway I’m totally fine… thank you @markhanretty for getting me through that one.

‘I’m sure there will be many more. Seeing Nelly and Arthur’s little faces definitely cheered me up and @gregory_shep of course.’
