The character’s description includes more details about Caldwell, including that he ‘realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to know owning several trucks and the local truck stop.’

He is also described as, ‘powerful, generous, loved by everyone’ and a ‘true man of the people.’

While the citizens of Iron Lake should consider themselves ‘blessed’ if he has your back, ‘but should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for, God help you.’

There is no indication yet if Iron Lake will serve as the setting for this new series, though it has been confirmed to be set in present day, seven years after the 2013 finale.

Hall recently opened up about the controversial finale in an interview with The Daily Beast, where he pulled no punches about his thoughts on the finale.

‘Let’s be real: people found the way that show left things pretty unsatisfying, and there’s always been a hope that a story would emerge that would be worth telling,’ he said.

‘I include myself in the group of people that wondered, “What the hell happened to that guy?” So I’m excited to step back into it. I’ve never had that experience of playing a character this many years on,’ Hall added.

Showtime announced the Dexter revival in mid-October, reuniting Hall with new showrunner Clyde Phillips, who had served as a writer and producer on the original series since it started in 2006.

The announcement said production would begin on the revival in early 2021, though it’s unclear when filming will actually start.

The original eight-season run of Dexter premiered in the fall of 2006 and starred Hall as Dexter Morgan, a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer.

The show became one of the most acclaimed series on television, earning multiple Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) nominations for best television drama series as well as a prestigious Peabody Award in 2008, and was twice named one of AFI’s top 10 television series.

Brown is coming off of a guest-starring spot in an episode of The Mandalorian, and he can currently be seen in Promising Young Woman, currently in theaters and debuting on digital platforms January 15.
