EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke’s fortune has rocketed to £7million

Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke was warned by her father never to expect to get rich through acting.

‘He wanted me to be very realistic about the whole thing, about how nobody makes any money,’ she said of the late theatre sound engineer.

But she has certainly exceeded his expectations.

According to her company Scenic Root, her fortune has rocketed to £7 million even though the hit series ended in 2019.

And reserves soared by £500,000 last year alone.

But Emilia, 34, who played Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, may not have anyone to spend it on.

Last summer, she was spotted with movie director Tom Turner, but is now reportedly looking for love again.

The Duke of Edinburgh was not only content to walk a few steps behind the Queen — he was also happy to be her bell boy, as broadcaster Clare Balding discovered at a lunch at Windsor Castle.

The Duke was so absorbed talking to the surgeon sitting opposite him that the Queen suddenly ordered from the end of the table: ‘Philip — the bell!’

‘It was then when I noticed in front of Prince Philip was a round metal disc,’ Clare recalled.

‘In the centre of it was a button, which he duly pushed. Seconds later, staff cleared the plates.’

She then asked the Duke: ‘Does the Queen not have her own button?’

He replied with a smile, ‘Certainly not. I’ve got to have some things that I’m in charge of.’

Being lost in translation is a common plight for most actors, but a daring Hugh Grant hopes to win the French over by pretending he can speak their language.

‘I can speak French to get by, but when I’m doing a publicity tour for a film, we get to France and they say, “Could you do live radio interviews in French?” and I say of course,’ explains the Four Weddings And A Funeral star.

‘Then I go on and I can’t understand a word anybody is saying, not one word.’

Much to the fury of the French, he adds.

‘I just say sorry, I don’t understand, you can say that once or twice, but when you say it the eighth time, they just cut you off with jingles, like, “Who is this idiot?” ’ Such a faux pas, Hugh.
