Elle Macpherson celebrates son Flynn’s virtual graduation one year later

Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson shared a heartfelt Instagram post for her eldest son Flynn, Busson, 23, on Sunday.

Flynn graduated from the prestigious business school Babson College in Wellesley,  Massachusetts, that was postponed by a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

A proud Elle, 57, gushed in the caption that ‘it was wonderful’ to see him walk across the stage and it ‘so worth the wait’.

With the ceremony being a virtual affair, Elle shared footage of Flynn receiving his honours from a screen.

‘Congratulations @cyfly08. Class 20/20. Babson College Wellesley. Graduation ceremony a year later than hoped but it was wonderful to see you walk across that stage and so worth the wait. We are beyond proud of you,’ Elle wrote in the caption. 

The businesswoman, who flew with Flynn to Boston for one day for the special occasion, also shared a photo of the pair posing outside their private jet. 

‘Virtual graduation a year later wasn’t exactly what we expected, but we managed to celebrate in usual ways, making it even more special,’ she captioned the photo on her Instagram Stories. 

Elle, who is primarily based in Miami, shares sons Flynn and Aurelius Cy Busson, 18, with her ex-partner, French financier Arpad Busson, 58. 

The couple began dating in 1996 and separated in 2005. 

Elle previously told Vogue Australia that despite Flynn and Cy leading lavish lifestyles, they are kept grounded. 

‘It’s a delicate line (on keeping her family grounded), and we certainly have opportunities as a family that I didn’t have as a child,’ she said.

‘We are an international family… but I have to say the most beautiful moments really are the simplest times when we’ve been brought together, things like road trips.’
