George Clooney reveals he’s ‘mopping the floor’ and doing SEVEN loads of laundry a DAY in lockdown

The pandemic has forced A-lister George Clooney to step into the role of caretaker for his three-year-old twins and human rights lawyer wife.

During a candid chat on the Howard Stern Show this week, the Oscar winner revealed that since the pandemic has forced he and his wife Amal to hunker down at home, life has become like the film ‘Mr. Mom.’

George also tore into people who refuse to wear masks during the interview, passionately stating: ‘This thought where everybody is like, “Well it’s my freedom.” It’s like, that’s not how this s*** works, dumba**.’

When Stern asked the actor how he was faring in lockdown with his wife and children, Alexander and Ella, and whether it was hard without ‘the 500 nannies’.

‘First of all, we only have one nanny,’ he laughed in response. George prefaced the rest of his answer by telling the shock jock that he understands how no one wants to hear people in his position of wealth, security and power complain.

‘I’m not going to complain about anything,’ he said. ‘But, it is unusual.’

‘In some ways the lockdown has been funny because I’ve been back doing the things I used to do along time ago,’ Clooney continued. ‘I do seven loads of wash a day, you know, I’m mopping the floor, I’m the chef of the house.’

Stern suggested this could be the plot of a movie and Clooney laughed, quipping it was like the 1983 comedy Mr. Mom starring Michael Keaton.

In other parts of his virtual interview with Stern, Clooney railed against people who refuse to wear masks despite mandates to do so in several states and municipalities to help stem the spread of COVID-19.

‘Your freedom is this: You’re free to smoke until your lungs turn black, but you can’t do it on the bus. And you’re free to drink until your liver comes out your ass, but you can’t drink and then get behind the wheel of a car.’

He went on to say that there are some guidelines which have to be followed by the general public in order to stop the spread of the virus.

Clooney explained: ‘There have to be certain rules. This is one that says: Put on a f***ing mask and we’ll get through this. We’ve got vaccines coming — let’s save another 60,000 lives before the vaccines.’

Clooney has been busy promoting his new science fiction film The Midnight Sky, which was released on Netflix over the weekend.

He plays one of the few survivors on Earth following a global catastrophe, and the only person still in contact with a group of astronauts, led by Felicity Jones, who are scheduled to return to Earth.

Clooney’s character tries to warn them away from returning to the devastated planet, but its complicated by a young girl he has to take care of and Jones’ character’s pregnancy.

The character was written to be pregnant to match Jone’s real-life pregnancy. She gave birth in September.

The film was shot in real sub-zero temperatures and Clooney told Stern that it was so cold that this eyelids would freeze shut within ’60 seconds’ of stepping outside.

He explained that someone would have to physically guide him over to a crew member who would warm up his eyelashes with a blow dryer so he could open his eyes again.
