In this latest remake, Garcia steps into the role of the father of the soon-to-be bride, played by Adria Arjona, who struggles to come to terms with his daughter’s nuptials.

According to Deadline, the new remake will be more of a romantic-comedy than previous versions of film, and that it will be more in the vein of the original Spencer Tracy led film.

Estefan and Garcia previously worked together in the 2000 biological made-for-television drama film, For Love Or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, which chronicled the famed Cuban jazz musician.

The Conga singer’s acting resume also includes playing the mother of the late Naya Rivera’s character’s mom in Glee (2012, 2015), and Mirtha in season three of the Netflix reimagined series One Day At A Time (2017).
