Stab victim found knifed to death in street as 19-year-old is charged with his murder

A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder over the death of a teenager who was stabbed after a ‘car crash’ in Oxfordshire.

Joshua Harling, 19, died on a street in Thame after suffering a single stab wound to the chest at around 7pm on Wednesday. He was found close to an upturned hatchback.

Nathan Braim was last night charged with murder over the death and appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The case was sent to Oxford Crown Court and will be heard at 10am on July 29. Braim will remain in custody until the hearing.

A 15-year-old and two 19-year-old men who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder have been released under conditional bail.

Dana Patel, prosecuting, told Oxford Magistrates’ Court said: ‘This incident relates to the death of Mr Harling on July 22 this year. He was stabbed once to the chest.

‘The Crown asks that this be sent to Crown Court. The magistrates cannot consider bail where there is a charge of murder.’

Presiding magistrate Helen Robins told Braim: ‘You are here on a charge of murder with no indication of plea. This case will be sent to Oxford Crown Court for July 29 at 10am. You will remain in custody pending that hearing.’

Police and paramedics rushed to Chinnor Road shortly after 7pm on July 22 to find Mr Harling, who had suffered fatal injuries.

He died at the scene, and a post mortem later revealed he was killed by a single stab wound, the Oxford Mail reported.

The area’s fire crews were also called to reports of a crash amid fears someone may have needed to be cut out of a vehicle.
