Heather Rae Young recently opened up about the positive ‘co-parenting’ dynamic between herself and fiance Tarek El Moussa’s former wife Christina Haack, 37.
‘We coparent very well together,’ the Selling Sunset star, 33, told Us Weekly. ‘We communicate daily about the kids, and they’re the most important thing in the world to all of us.’
Tarek and Christina, who famously divorced in 2018 after nine years of marriage, share two children, 10-year-old daughter Taylor and five-year-old son Brayden.

Heather continued: ‘So, as long as the kids are happy, we’re all happy.’
Young further dished on her relationship with Taylor and Brayden, who ‘respect [her] as their bonus mom.’
‘They love me. I love them so much, but I think the most challenging [thing] was coming in when they were already 3 and 8 and they’re already little people, they already have the personalities, they already had a routine,’ she explained.
‘I came in after the fact. So, just kind of fitting my way into their lives, being too strict or just kind of setting those boundaries and rules and not overstepping boundaries or rules.
‘So, just kind of making sure those are in place but that was really just kind of getting our personalities, working together and living together and how I can set my boundaries with the rules that are in place that I want to have at our home.

‘So, in the way I grew up and kind of instilling certain things in them,’ said Heather of her ever evolving parenting skills.
Young and El Moussa, 39, were first romantically linked in the summer of 2019, before getting engaged in July 2020.
The early stages of the pair’s relationship played out in the second and third season of Heather’s hit Netflix reality series Selling Sunset.
Despite being divorced, Tarek and his ex wife Christina have managed to build a strong friendship, while continuing to host their HGTV series Flip or Flop.

Although Heather has yet to make an appearance on her soon-to-be husband’s television show, she expressed excitement over the idea during her remote Us Weekly interview.
‘That would be amazing. And I think lots of fun, so you’ll see. We’ll see,’ she gushed.
Tarek and Young recently threw an elaborate engagement party, which they happily dished on during their Entertainment Tonight hosting gig on Wednesday.
‘Oh my gosh, I lost my voice, he lost his. It was the most special night,’ gushed Young of their engagement party, which was attended by her Selling Sunset costars in Newport Beach, California.

‘It went so smooth and I said, this is a preview to the wedding day and it was the best day ever.’
For the big night, which they shared with their respective social media followings, Tarek donned a tuxedo suit and Heather wowed in a white jumpsuit.
There was only a small group of family pals due to COVID-19, including Tarek’s two children and baby mama Christina, but they still had ‘fun’ they shared on social media.

The couple, who are capturing their nuptials on film, revealed on ET that they have yet to decide which one of their reality series’ will host the sentimental footage.
‘We don’t know! We’re filming the wedding, it would be Flipping 101 or my show,’ Heather spilled, before excitedly revealed she ‘already [has her] wedding dress picked.’
‘I picked it, like, right away,’ the bride-to-be shares, teasing, ‘It’s sexy, classy and something no one expects it to be.’
