When you’ve acquired a sleek new smartphone, you wouldn’t want to carry it around in any old case.
You would rightly demand something more stylish.
And this sentiment has apparently given rise to the cult of the miniature designer handbag.

Retail giant John Lewis has seen huge demand for the £295 Mulberry Grain Leather Medium Phone Pouch, pictured – with some styles and colours completely sold out.
At almost £300, the diminutive accessory is only 7in (19cm) tall and 6in (14.5cm) wide.
While Mulberry is best known for its timeless handbags, the pouch is marketed as a ‘hands-free solution to carrying your phone anywhere’.
Other options include the Mulberry Small Classic Grain Leather Chain Phone Pouch at £215, the Coach Slim Leather Phone Cross Body Bag at £125 and the Michael Kors Leather Phone Cross Body Bag – a relative bargain at £120.

Research by John Lewis Home Insurance found Britons have not had a phone-free day for five years on average and check their device once every five minutes.
It seems a quarter of married men are so devoid of sentimentality that they would be more upset to lose their phone than their wedding ring.
The study found that almost half – 44per cent – have our mobile phone within reach at all times, 24 hours a day.
Almost half of those surveyed say they sleep next to their mobile at night (45per cent) and a quarter say they feel panicked if their battery is running low (23per cent).
Data from insurance claims reveals water damage is a common reason for mobile phone damage, including dropping them in puddles, cups of tea, toilets, baths, swimming pools and even the sea.
As our phones have become more expensive, they have become a bigger target for criminals.
The average number of claims for phone thefts has risen by almost a quarter in just three years. And the average value of those claims has increased from £386 to £508.
Handbags buyer, Samantha Rowe, said: ‘Our phones are used for so much of our lives these days – not only helping us keep in touch with loved ones but ordering groceries, shopping for clothes, paying for bills and parking, watching films and dating.
‘It is little wonder then that we are favouring the phone pouch – allowing us to keep it close without carrying it in our hand 24/7. Tiny phone bags are already emerging as a trend and will be huge for the Autumn/Winter season.’
